# Tiers & Billing

> Understand Avatcado's pricing tiers and how billing works

## Tiers

Avatcado offers three tiers: Free, Pro, and Business. Your tier determines your monthly request quota, burst limit, and feature access. See [Rate Limits](/rate-limits) for the full breakdown of quotas and burst limits per tier.

## Upgrading and downgrading

You can upgrade or downgrade your tier at any time from the [Avatcado dashboard](https://avatcado.com). Billing is handled through Stripe.

* **Upgrading** takes effect immediately. Your new quota and burst limit apply right away.
* **Downgrading** takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

## Billing

Billing is handled through [Stripe](https://stripe.com). You can manage your subscription, update your payment method, or cancel from the [Avatcado dashboard](https://avatcado.com). Your tier syncs automatically when your subscription changes.

## Quota periods

Free tier quotas reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). Paid tier quotas (Pro and Business) reset on your billing anniversary. For example, if you subscribe on March 20th, your quota resets on the 20th of each month. Check the `X-RateLimit-Reset` header on any authenticated response to see your next reset date.
